About us
The workshops in the Deutsches Museum
Our workshops combine traditional craftsmanship, creativity and meticulousness. Unique pieces are produced, masterpieces are expertly restored and the building and its technology are maintained.

From exhibition painters to the sculpture and mechanics workshops, photo studios, tailoring and printing: the Deutsches Museum has 24 specialised workshops. Most of these are located directly on the Museum Island in the library building. The workshop for vehicle and machine restoration is located in Hall I of our transport museum Verkehrszentrum. You can look over the shoulders of aircraft restorers in the transparent workshop in the Flugwerft Schleißheim.

Experts work in the specialist workshops to restore the collection objects, develop and realise models and dioramas, maintain and redesign the exhibitions and carry out repairs and renovation work on the buildings.
