Education at the Deutsches Museum

Even in the early days, our founder Oskar von Miller envisioned a museum that would entertain and educate – a blend of "Oktoberfest and public education centre." In Georg Kerschensteiner, he had an educational reformer at his side who placed active participation and hands-on experience at the heart of the museum’s mission. Building on this tradition, we have developed programmes and materials that allow visitors of all ages to experience the museum through active self-engagement.
