The Deutsches Museum with its branch museums is an outstanding place for science and technology education and for a constructive dialogue between science and society. Founded in 1903, it has one of the longest traditions of science and technology museums in the world and is, with 66.000 square metres of exhibition space, the largest. Its unique collection of original exhibits makes the Deutsches Museum a leading international centre of technical and scientific culture. As one of the major German research museums of national importance, it is jointly funded by the Free State of Bavaria, the federal government and the federal states and is a member of the Leibniz Association.
