Core Objectives: Where Experience Creates Knowledge
We offer experiences that create knowledge and turn science into an experience. To achieve this, we use the museum’s unique fascination to inspire enthusiasm and impart knowledge. We complement our exhibitions with up-to-date information through a rich repertoire of ideas and activities, exploring content together with our visitors.

Diversity – A Warm Welcome:
Our programmes are designed to ensure that everyone feels welcome. Together, we create new ways for visitors to discover the museum and engage personally. Diversity is important to us. This also applies to the Kerschensteiner Kolleg, where we welcome all guests and provide a stay that combines professional knowledge transfer with a welcoming atmosphere.

Reflecting on the Future:
We embrace the challenge of trying out new and innovative approaches. Our objectives for programmes and accompanying materials are clearly formulated and structured. We value the opinions of others. Therefore, our work is reflected upon and evaluated at various stages of a project. Open discourse is essential and valuable to us at all times. We strive to embody the values we teach within our own department.

Theory for Practice:
We use academic definitions of terms such as education, communication, and didactics to ensure a common foundation for our progress. In doing so, we incorporate current research and evaluation results into our work. Within the museum, we actively take on the role of experts in museum education, and educational facilitation, acting as multipliers who share their theoretical, practical, and experience-based knowledge within the department and throughout the entire museum.

Succeeding Together:
To achieve these goals, we draw on the diverse professional backgrounds of our department’s staff and support each other in our endeavours. We believe in lifelong learning and continuously strive for professional development to build on our strengths and bring new skills to the team.
