In the sculpture workshop, freely formed, sculptural works such as figures or productions are created by trained sculptors. In doing so, they create as authentic an image of reality as possible based on plans, drawings or photos, or - depending on the task - creatively alter reality or create abstract designs.

In addition to the principle of depicting reality, the ability to improvise and a wealth of ideas are important, as prototypes often have to be created. The sculptors work with a variety of materials, from classic materials such as wood and clay to metal, plaster and various plastics.

The tasks of this workshop include figurative representations in various scales. In the dioramas for which the Deutsches Museum is famous, the sculptors design the terrain and landscapes. The mine and the walk-in cell were created with the help of the sculpture workshop.
