Craftsmanship from the ground up
Print shop
The Deutsches Museum has its own print shop so that smaller print jobs can be completed quickly and easily.
Anything that can be produced in letterpress or offset printing up to A3 format is produced here. Letterpress (relief printing) and offset printing (flat printing) are used in the in-house print shop. Book printing also includes tasks as creasing, punching, embossing and numbering.
In addition to the GTO offset machine, there is a Heidelberg Platen Press, an indestructible letterpress machine that can certainly be considered a "classic".
The print shop employs a printer who prints announcements for special exhibitions, lecture series and smaller posters. The museum's internal letterheads and forms, as well as visiting and admission tickets, research sheets for school classes, flyers and leaflets for events are produced here. The in-house magazine "Eule" is printed here every month.
