Peter Pichler is the only professional player of the trautonium. Invented in 1930 by Friedrich Trautwein, it was further developed and propagated by Oskar Sala in particular. Among other things, he used it to create the birdcalls for Hitchock's thriller "The Birds". Various types of the instrument and Sala's estate can be found in the Deutsches Museum. Peter Pichler plays parts of his new album "Ins Nichts mit ihm" (label: NEOS Music).
