The Deutsches Museum is usually open daily from 9 am to 5 pm. The museum is only closed eight days a year.

Opening hours and closures apply to all Deutsches Museum branches in the Munich area: the main Deutsches Museum on the Museumsinsel in Munich city centre, the Verkehrszentrum (transport museum), Flugwerft Schleißheim (aviation museum) and the Library.

The Archives on the Museumsinsel are open Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00. Pre-registration is recommended.
