Join this interactive workshop and explore, test and work with innovative leather alternatives made of algae, hemp, agricultural waste and others. Led by Anastasia Jais, founder of Substanz, learn how innovative leather alternatives are reshaping the textile and fashion industries and roll up your sleeves for a creative session where you’ll design and assemble your own keychain from a leather alternative.

All you need is curiosity and creativity — we provide the tools!
Recommended for all ages 12+. Language of the workshop: English.

The Mimbiosis Lab Session is part of the Bio Living Lab curated by Studio Nima, a creative pop-up exhibition on biomaterial innovations combined with interactive educational formats. The Bio Living Lab runs for 8 days, 2-9 October 2025 in the Science Communication Lab of Deutsches Museum. It is supported by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.
