The Planeta printing press was built in 1911 by Dresdner Schnellpressen-Fabrik and installed at the Georg Vogler book printing works in Holzkirchen. Among other things, the daily newspaper "Oberbayerischer Gebirgsbote" was printed there on the so-called high-speed press. The press was in use until 1983. The Planeta was characterised by a particularly large printing format (max. 76 x 117 cm) and could print up to 1500 sheets per hour. You can find out what the name "Planeta" is all about and how the approximately 7 tonne machine works on site.
The demonstration is part of the "100 Years of the Deutsches Museum" programme. Admission to the museum is free on the anniversary weekend 10/11 May 2025.
The demonstartion will be held in German.
