Agriculture – fiction and reality

The question of where our food comes from concerns us all. In our Agriculture and Food exhibition, you will learn about the origins of our “daily bread” – and discover its impact and adverse effects on health and the environment.

  • Adults, Young people

From the field to the table: this tour through the Agriculture and Food exhibition takes a closer look at plants, animals and machines. For thousands of years, agriculture has provided our “daily bread”. However, while almost a billion people on Earth are currently starving and even more are not able to eat healthily, many others live in wasteful abundance.

What prospects do science and technology offer to solve these global problems? In which areas do we find a social and political desire for change – and what are the possibilities?

When will this event take place?

Discover which activities are taking place by checking our daily programme, which is published at around 9.20 each day. Our programme changes daily and includes guided tours, demonstrations, science shows and hands-on activities for individual visitors and small groups of up to five people. All programme events are held in German. They begin either directly where the activity is set to take place or at a guided-tour meeting point in the relevant exhibition.
