“What moves us” – that is the Verkehrszentrum’s motto, and it naturally applies to the Long Night of Museums as well. Whether on castors, tyres, wheels, or runners – in the three heritage-listed halls on Theresienhöhe, visitors can discover the full diversity of land transport, either at their own pace or on a guided tour.

Anyone looking to get moving – or be moved – can try out the “crazy bikes” in the courtyard, get thoroughly shaken up in the carriage simulator, or float toward the future in the “Supra-Glider”.

The photographs by Martin Roemers, featured in the special exhibition Homo Mobilis, move visitors in a completely different way. These large-format images of people from around the world alongside their vehicles are deeply touching through their vivid expressiveness and rich detail.

Last but not least, visitors can meet the next generation of engineers and check out their high-speed ride: students from TUfast are showcasing their latest race car and will be on hand to answer any questions about the vehicle and the project.

The Rolling Museum is once again running a shuttle service between the Verkehrszentrum and Museumsinsel: a fleet of classic cars will transport visitors back and forth in style – where another exciting programme awaits.
