Astronautics

Astronautics is a relatively young technical discipline and involves the transport of machines and people into space. We have now set foot on the moon and occupy the International Space Station (ISS), and thousands of satellites orbit the Earth. We also have many far-reaching plans for future journeys into the infinite expanses of the universe. The exhibition traces developments in the field, from early ideas and innovations to the current importance of astronautics in modern everyday life, along with the insights it provides into life here on Earth – or perhaps further afield.
