The heart – the engine of life

Our heart tirelessly pumps blood through our body – so much that it could fill more than 40 bathtubs a day. How can we support it in this vital task?

  • Adults, Young people

The same size as a fist, our heart tirelessly pumps blood throughout our body. See the heart’s place in the cardiovascular system and experience how the inside of the heart works.

If the engine of our lives stutters, intervention is needed – fast! Heart valves can be replaced, stents or bypass surgery safeguard blood supply, and pacemakers regulate the heart’s rhythm. We can even support the heart’s ability to pump blood. However, there’s no beating the original – so we should take good care of it.
