The travelling exhibition of the Natural History Museum Vienna, ‘It's not just the ravages of time’, presents museum and home pests and shows how today's pest control measures differ from those used in the past. It also presents new findings on the influence of climate change on pest problems in museums.

It's not just the ravages of time

Pest control is also an important issue for the collections at the Verkehrszentrum. You wouldn't immediately suspect it, but vehicles can also be affected by pests: be it woodworms that infest wooden carriages and coaches or vehicle superstructures, textiles in cars or carriages that clothes moths want to nest in, or mice that run into the halls when the door is open and want to make themselves at home under or in exhibits.
