Image library
The Deutsches Museum’s Image Library holds a collection of around 80,000 documentary photographs, which can be accessed in the archive’s reading room. It is the central point of contact at the Deutsches Museum for requests for scans and new photographs, as well as for licensing.

Here, visitors will find photographic records, arranged systematically, relating to the history of the Deutsches Museum, to important objects and figures in the history of science and technology, as well as photographs of handwritten or printed documents of great historical value. The systematic arrangement is largely based on the subject-area classification of the Deutsches Museum’s collections.

Overview of Fees
High-quality negative film photographs and scans are used as source material. Reproductions can be obtained from the image library for a fee.
