New special exhibition
Rethinking food. NewFoodSystems
Discover ideas for the future of food. This summer we invite you to explore innovative foods and sustainable production methods.
How we produce food is changing significantly. This is because food production faces major challenges: it contributes to environmental impacts and the climate crisis while needing to feed a growing population. New raw materials, processes, and production methods open up new possibilities, but not everything automatically ends up on our plates. After all, food is an emotional topic: What do we enjoy eating? And what defines "good" food for us?
The special exhibition "Rethinking Food. NewFoodSystems" at the Deutsches Museum Nürnberg invites you to question your own perspective, discover new technologies, and actively join the conversation.
The exhibition was developed in collaboration with the "Innovation Space NewFoodSystems – New Food Systems." This network, bringing together partners from science and industry, is working on new approaches to the food of the future. Both the Innovation Space and the exhibition are funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the "National Research Strategy BioEconomy 2030."
Exhibition Highlights:
- Interactive Experiences: Reflect on your eating habits and discover new perspectives on food.
- Cutting-Edge Technologies: Learn about ongoing research on production methods, cultivation techniques, and new foods, as well as the opportunities and challenges they present.
- Cultural and Ethical Aspects: Discuss societal values and challenges related to our diet.
